Asking for help/opinions from option traders

Howdy! I am a designer working with a few others to learn about the options space and see if/how we might be able to create a tool or tools that can help option traders. We have leveraged Reddit and a few other communities to peek and see what questions people are asking and tools they are using now, but we wanted to go one step further.

We are looking for opportunities to chat with people who trade options to learn more about the people we might be creating things for. In return for talking to us about options and the way people trade them, we can offer a $25 Amazon gift card.

So, this is where we ask for help. Are there any option communities you might recommend where people would be willing to help? Or, if people here are interested, please fill out our survey; the survey will both help us figure out who we're talking to and will also keep things organized.

I’d do a spam back, but I figure your funds are low, so I will not bother. Besides, it costs nothing but a little time to search for and read thousands of posts on options to gain some insight on what might be useful to options traders. After you have done this, you may be able to talk more specifically on what you might be able to offer.

Errrrr, there's quite a hole here. And that's only page 1.
If you can fix that, you might garner a better set of results.

Hey tommcginnis - thanks for your feedback regarding our screener/survey! The survey you quote is intended mainly to get emails and names for people we can reach out to. Hopefully, based on responses and availability, we can schedule 30 minutes to chat with interested people in the next few days.

All that said, the additional question you quoted is to help us understand not if you are an options trader--we are asking that in the next question--but if you primarily invest or trade anything other than options. The follow up question helps us gauge quickly how often you invest at a very very high level.

tl;dr - the survey questions are framed to help us schedule time to chat with people on the phone.

Hey, we do appreciate your feedback/reply! I wanted to mention, we have been looking at quite a few different places to gauge concerns, needs and problems when it comes to options, but there's nothing like hearing things straight from the horses' mouth. Coming at this as a designer, I care much more about being able to empathize with the people we are potentially trying to create tools for.

As far as what we might be able to offer, I can't say I am following. I realize we can only offer a few dollar for conversations, but that might be something some people are interested in and we're willing to give it a shot...

Having *suffered* through an entire graduate course in survey design, I would rather remove my own toenails with a pair of pliers than deal with bad surveys. Or roll around on broken flourescent lightbulbs. You get the idea.

At any event, I'll go back through in the morning.

To your credit, you *probably* know that you have quite the tall mountain to climb -- there are a couple of *fine* platforms around -- mostly aimed at non-professionals with no desire to 'roll [their] own.' Many of them are sponsors on ET, for example. And the real mo-fo of it all is that, if you're *really* interested in developing an options platform, you'll HAVE TO become option traders yourselves. (Which IS doable, if 1) you find a qualified trader to learn from, and 2) you actually apply yourself/selves.) But, that's all a tall mountain.:cool:

It was a horrible, horrible experience. It was KNOWN to be a brain ossifier. But I needed a 'rest' class, and BOY was that it. At a gabillion dollars a credit hour. And I could make *any* class interesting. I really could...... except this one. My GAWD just the memory makes me want to go to sleep....

OMG. And NOT analogies. I must be tired. I'm watching broadcast TV. THIS is AMERICAN CULLLLLLTURRRRRRe. OMG. Poke my eyes out with a baseball bat and feed them to pigeons.
