If you're looking to trade any of the SGX commodities, liquidity is quite poor. Oftentimes I see 4 or 5 tick wide bid ask spreads during the main session on front month TSR20 Rubber. Liquidity on their Coal and Iron Ore is even thinner.
I would be curious to hear of anybody trading commodities (especially palm oil) on bursa malaysia though.
Sure rubber on Shangai or japan is more volatile and has more speculative participants than say SGX rubber but I was referring to spreads not outright directional!there are other better places to trade commodities.
eg iron ore -- Dalian DCE
rubber - Shanghai INE

so are you saying that INE iron calendars are better for trading than say SGX Iron calenders?
Synthetic spreads like Iron ore SGX/ INE ( I think)
Also what about brokers... Asian brokers are way more expensive than US
