The site didnt say the scores were normalized, just that the averages...the percentage of people who get >1400 is actually small.

I think they take the raw test results and apply them to a bell curve. So 1050 is always the average but that could be 50

Wealthier families go to better public and private high schools, have better college prep classes and can afford SAT review classes. It's not rocket science.

Future employers will be Japanese, South Korean, Singaporeans, etc. all Asians. How will they decide on which Americans applying for jobs are the most qualified? They will make Americans take a comparable test to the SAT exams. Those slugs who got thru with very low SAT scores and even succeeded in phasing SAT exams from so called elite schools, how do you expect to pass the test when you have to actually pass it to even be considered for a job in the future? Unlike, the US and Europe, meritocracy still practiced by most Asian businesses and bosses.

A few years back, more like 10 or 15 lol, but anyway there was a mom and pop, Chinese family takeout that was real good, halfway healthy, and we used to order there all the time.

Wanna know why I can tell you this today? It's because it impressed me so much. I would go in and pick up whatever we ordered... and they ALWAYS had one of their kids running the cash register. And I'm talking like 5th grade age. Sharp as a tack. All business. I used to come home and tell my wife... those kids will be running Fortune 500 companies 40 years from now.

Of course. I just threw that article in there because Usual Tard argued that everything had improved so much.

And I simply tossed in that even if that were true, some people are arguing that lockdown wiped it out. There are lots of other arguments too.

Things are not as groovy as he presents. It is just as you said: "education scores dropping has a lot to do with shitty educaiton across the country."

Education is not “shitty” in America. Compared to some other western countries with systems not as fragmented as ours, it is true we are lagging. The main reason for this is what usually drags our country down, the southern states.

Try to understand we do not have national standards, we have national minimums. Federal funding can be as low as 10% of school funding depending on where you live and with even lower state investments. We actually need a uniform curriculum like with Common Core to bring up the laggard states.

It goes without saying kids get a better education in blue states than red states. If you compared New Jersey students to Denmark or Japan there isn’t too much difference.

What % of Alabama students take the SAT? low single digits.....says a lot.. teh very few who actually do well in Alabama schools taking it while most do not. That is why that table is not really indicative of what is going on.
