As expected the Buzzfeed reporting about Trump directing Cohen to lie is BS

Only watched a minute, but Cuomo says the reporters did not say they spoke with people or staff from the Special Counsels Office.

Fine, but they did specifically say that they had seen the "302's or that their sources had" (gets complicated because the two reporters had not coordinated their stories, one said he directly saw documents, but the other would not say that, only that their sources had). In any case a 302 is an FBI document even if you were to buy into the assertion that it was not a Mueller investigation 302.

As I said earlier, fine, if you want to go down that road let's go. Open up an investigation on which FBI source it was which would of course include a polygraph of mueller and his people.

Interesting that Mueller apparently felt his operation was being impugned to the point where he felt the need to intervene so it was not just Fox News making it up.

People familiar with the matter said Carr told others in the government that he would have more vigorously discouraged the reporters from proceeding with the story had he known it would allege Cohen had told the special counsel Trump directed him to lie — or that the special counsel was said to have learned this through interviews with Trump Organization witnesses, as well as internal company emails and text messages.

People familiar with the matter said after BuzzFeed published its story — which was attributed to “two federal law enforcement officials involved in an investigation of the matter” — the special counsel’s office reviewed evidence to determine if there were any documents or witness interviews like those described, reaching out to those they thought might have a stake in the case.

They found none, these people said. That, the people said, is in part why it took Mueller’s office nearly a day to dispute the story publicly. In the interim, cable news outlets and other media organizations, including The Washington Post, dissected its possible implications — even as their reporters were unable to independently confirm it.

People familiar with the matter said the special counsel’s office meant the statement to be a denial of the central theses of the BuzzFeed story — particularly those that referenced what Cohen had told the special counsel, and what evidence the special counsel had gathered.

The entire episode reminded me of the Kavanaugh hearings/ambush. As traders, we know the psychology behind wanting something to be true so badly you delude yourself and ditch your normal procedure.

Of course, in the media, there is no real punishment for making up negative stories about Trump or leaping to join the lynch mob. It's pretty much their job description.

Its pretty apparent that Mueller knows his team was the source. Otherwise would not have had to put out such a carefully composed denial. Compromising his case permanently. I mean completely fucking compromised as to that issue... if there ever was one.

And, pretty proving his office leaked. Creating criminal liability for at least some members of the team if Republican deep state cucks every had any balls.

This is very serious. Frankly I can't believe this happened.
Buzzfeed fucked up their weak leak so dramatically its not even funny.
Heads need to roll and Mueller needs to mea culpa or as a defense attorney I would be able to fuck up his case now and forever. Reasonable doubt about his entire effort has been given to any top defense attorney.

Barr is about to be briefed on the investigation by Mueller. Had Mueller not issued a refutation of false information released, likely by his own team, he might have faced being fired by Barr. It was that close.
