Artificial Intelligence (AI) vs. Standard Indicators: Edge or Double-Edge

Dear Members,

I believe in Artificial Intelligence (AI) because I know that makes trading more profitable for me. That's a mathematical result leaving minimal space for opinions.

However, I started to break down AI to people, and particular members told me only those who use AI who don't know what they're doing.

Then, I routed the results back to standard indicators everyone knows, and some of you told me there was no edge in traditional technical analytics tools.

I believe both claims are questionable because AI is profitable to me, which proves to me that it contributes to knowledge, but I also know that standard indicators can be profitable without AI.

Here, I want to clarify people's opinions on the matter. Do you think machine-learning algorithms are worth discussing, or do you think we should focus on indicators everyone knows?

You are by far away from good knowledge about the markets. You are really new to this I see. You should learn much more about markets reading more books and studies. Here in this forum you can get little advice but you need to do much more work. This will take at least another 5 years, but since you have a fulltime job other than trading it might need 10 to 15 years until you are ready here for a journal or anything to demonstrate including your strategies with code incl..

there are four types of AI, which one are you using? Secondly how do you rate the performance of your artificial intelligence? Then we will know what you're talking about
 
Trading is only for those extremely hardworking people who are willing to sweat blood.

Those who use AI or indicators and hope for $$$$ to fall from the sky should be doing anything other than trading.

Sweat blood?? OK\ if you mean that for plenty of work.
I would rather measure Mt McKinley, MatterHorn than climb it .Good walk.
RSI is so hated, some may find a use for it, seldom use it myself.

Good thing they are not changed by observation;
even though some can be changed by a dividend or masses LOL:D:D
Personally I would not change the Mt McKinley or MatterHorn , even in 5or 20 years.

Okay, I acknowledge the potential I can achieve in the following 10-15 years.

Unfortunately, I can't wait because I'm addicted to my analytics. You see, I figured my involvement in market discussions helped me resist suicide.

A few people without depression might laugh at this, but for me, it's evident. I asked for professional help and participated in a treatment program, too.

The sponsors of this forum were kind and helpful in starting my contribution on their platforms. It made sense to try the forum, too. I appreciate your warning about possibly not finding help, but I believe in your community. Many members were pleasant and helpful.

I can specify the type. I don't know what classification you mean. Let's consider the Reactive Machines, Limited Memory, Theory of Mind, and Self-aware AI types. I'd classify my known AI systems as Limited Memory (LMAI), but I experiment with Theory of Mind AI (ToMA). I've got results with emotional, belief, and intention recognition in trading strategies.

For LMAI, I use metrics like accuracy, precision, recall, F1 score, robustness, and generalization.

For ToMA, I aim to measure comprehension, prediction, social intelligence, empathy, common ground, and influence.
