Quote from Pa(b)st Prime:

Gee Cutten that wouldn't be an article. It would be a friggin book.

Chapter One: I wish I hadn't bought a 600 lot in Bonds as a horrendously recieved 30yr Treasury auction was hitting the wire......

Rofl! I didn't mean anecdotes, more like general principles :)

But hell, maybe a book is what you need to write? I'd buy it!

Quote from asap:

sure.

but, if you'd analyze a statistical relevant sample, you'd come up with 50/50 chances on average or to be more precise, roughly 51/49 when accommodating survivorship bias, positive drift and inflation. this is revealed by empirical analysis as well.

Only if you are assuming no prognostication ability. And if you are making that assumption, then surely the question is not whether to speculate using futures or options, but why on earth you would want to speculate at all?

Quote from asap:

from a statistical standpoint it does. i mean, if that would not be the case, then the market maker would have never filled you in the first place.

dont forget options are zero sum game. a bet that pays 8 for 1 has the following payout equation. meaning, in the long run, the net result of this trade will converge to zero (negative after adding trading costs).

7*.125 (winning) - 1*.875 (losing) = zero.

Efficient markets thread is >>> thattaway

Nice article from the poster known here as Pa(b)st Prime, but I now wonder if the author, Kurt Eckhardt, is the same Kurt Eckhardt who unsuccessfully ran for Congress (US House) as a Republican a couple of years ago.

I have to wonder, considering that the poster known as Pa(b)st Prime has posted some pretty repulsive white supremacist stuff in ET's politics and religion thread.

I mean, what a shock if it were true.

Interesting. I'd love to see any "white supremacist" stuff I've written.

Fine, if you'd like (or I could move this to chit and chat).

Should be rather easy: (1) type in your handle; (2) search under politics and religion; (3) type in keyword--"brown" and "black" should do.

Back in a minute or two. :-)

The tough part here is finding which offensive statements to choose from:

Your wisdom regarding black culture ranks up there (in smell, that is):

How about this, regarding Obama:

"You don't get it. Obama WILL NEVER "cut" spending.

He is the catalyst of America going full blast Socialist.

The old, sick, poor, black and brown all want your money, gringo/honky."

Your words, right?
