Are those who oppose outsourcing racist?

Quote from RCG Trader:

Not really, money will flow where it can do the greatest work. What Americans will have to do is recognize that the standard of living of our nation is headed towards a global median. The question is, what will we look like when that median is reached?

What is a bit nerving about it all is that we live in the 99% percentile globally. Even our minimum wage workers are bazzillionaires on the average global scale. It will be interesting to see how long it takes for global equilibrium to take place. I can safely say that it won't be before a war or two to reduce the population.

Quote from macroman:

outsurcing is a bubble. unsustainable trend which has still a bit to run. Creating property bubbles, to mask lack of work can work only for a while.

The US was built on outsourcing beginning in 1870s and now it is time to rethink the game.

Globalization has been a natural progression throughout history. The difference being that for the last few hundred years we have known the extent of the globe [more or less].

Either make it work for you and move with it or become embittered and swallowed up by others who are prepared to make the sacrifices and do the hard yards.

The choice is yours.

.....Are blondes now a protected class? Suggesting that blacks, Jews, Orientals etc. have ALWAYS been protected classes? :).....

I'm not suggesting anything like what you're trying to twist something into. If you're smart enough to find Google on your computer, go there, and enter the words "protected class". And shut up till you understand what the term means in the United States.

And...Are those who oppose outsourcing racist? In some cases, I'd guess the answer is yes. In all cases, certainly not. Quit trying to stir up racial shit. Get a life.

racism is an industry... I'd say that all the Native Americans, Blacks, etc.. that hate whitey and think they are going to get a free ride would be better off to cooperate and get jobs... the money to pay all of you off for being losers is running out and welfare is going to get skimpier and skimpier... that won't affect Indians on reservations but it sure will affect Blacks in the inner city reservations we know as ghettos...

'Protected class' means pretty much the same thing here in the UK - a characteristic that can't be targeted for discrimination, e.g. in a job requirement. So.. the government tells us whom we can and cannot joke about?

Nice to see that your life is rich enough to spend time on and get worked up by a thread like this, and a shame that you STILL haven't grasped the essence of my question. Luckily, some of your brighter compatriots have.

Quote from Random.Capital:

It requires cheap raw materials and, most importantly, ultra-cheap fuel for transportation. Both of those are in the rearview mirror.

are you saying that those who oppose globalization have nothing to worry about then? it's doomed to fail because it depends on cheap commodities?

I don't agree

The essence of your question my ass. Oooooo you are so elite. I guess that's why you have decided to post here on EliteTrader, huh??

I answered your question on your thread here straight up. It's a quite simple question.

Seriously though, you want to be an American, don't you?

Even more than cheap commodities, it depends on cheap fuel. China is already subsidizing internal oil sales at rates as high as $70/barrel - completely unsustainable - at that level they would exhaust their massive USD reserves in two years.

Over the next ten years, industries that have moved off-shore will start to return. And that includes big ones, like steel producers.
