Are there any True Wall street traders on this site

Quote from FreeMarkets:

I trade for J.P. Morgan Securities. I'm on the Euro-Bond desk. JPM encourages us to post on message boards catering to illiterate retail day traders. Plus, even though I make a little more than a grand a day in compensation, I'd rather type anonymous messages than dine at nice restaurants and spend time with the choice looking girlfriend that my 340k in comp landed me.

In fact I look upon making it big as the well earned chance to hang out for endless hours sparring with make believe "colleagues" on Elite Trader.

Illiterate retail day traders....:D This is the funniest post I read in a long time :D :D

Many here are probably stuck in their 4x4 box making cold calls, but, that's a whole lot better than people who just give up. [/B]

I don't know if it's just me, but making cold calls all day long to sell garbage stocks to elderly people is one of the last thing I would like to do in life. I did the cold call thing in a different inductry one time on a summer job and sweared I would never do it again.

I would seriously prefer being a manual worker than that...Am I weird?

Stupid statements like this are the crutch of the losers. Decent connection/friends at a top firm might get you an interview that you wouldn't otherwise have, but unless you actually know what you are doing - you won't get the job. This becomes more true as the pnl responsibility grows.

Now, if we are talking about getting an internship or as such, nothing beats being the son/daughter of an important client.

...or have a connection through a family member or fraternity brother.

why should it bother anyone if there are trues traders on this site?

you all know who you are - this place is great fun though:D

It's funny I had a friend that worked at susquehanna in Philadelphia. They recruited heavily out of Penn and Harvard. He said sometimes they hired high school dropouts that were great at poker and converted them into traders (that wasn't the norm though)

some of the best traders I know on a personal level were/are badass poker players.

I was just wandering if we had any True legitimate traders from wall street on this site.

Guys from top firms? Just wandering and if so where do you work?

was a trader on the rates prop desk at a bulge bracket ibank for two years and have been trading at a multi-billion hf for the past two years. the only reason why i visit this site is for entertainment.
