Are there any stock/equities intraday traders left?

I personally know over 20 people that everyday expect to make thousands of dollars. Depends how big time you are talking though. I dont know any 8 figure traders.... yet!

I've noted this too. I daytrade only a few favorites but lately it seems to me that they lurch around erratically within normal daily ranges so that their trade sequences seem bizarre but their daily charts still come out looking normal.
