Are there any mentors out there?

screen time babe, screen time is all u need, readin' books is gonna make u go nowhere faster.

I hear you Bit, and I agree that when it "clicks" it's a great feeling. But learning the trading concepts, theory and logic behind a good methodology definitely can't hurt none.

Best,

Jimmy

u dont need to click, infact u shudnt click for quite a while and theory, concepts, etc. are all up there, on the screen. books are full of recycled ideas that u wont even recall when u are there, ready to open your pos.

edit; if u meant click=trade, which i doubt now, ror.

I did have 1 on 1 training, materials, dvds, website and hotline access to all the traders (instructors) for any question no matter how beginner it sounded from May thru Oct 2005 for stock and basic options.

I continued onto advanced options with seminars, materials and website access but didn't buy the personal coaching or hotline access. I recommend the training and it is costly but couldn't have started without them.

There are mounds to learn-I turned the tv off for 6 months, I study every day, and every weekend. I listen to DVDs 3x week until my brain has shifted to where it needs to be-knowing this info inside and out and most important-what the risk is to the strategies and the rules.

My energy needed to change to be active along with the market.

A year later, I am just understanding regulated reports and how it effects options because I wasn't taught that in the courses. I still don't know theta and vega. So..it took a decade to be a competitive artist-I have time to learn about wealth........

For coaching one on one, you can buy that level you want in the companies offering stock and options education. Optionetics, Investools..... BUT you have to graduate from beginner so you don't waste your money and the experienced trader's time with beginner questions.

I don't expect to be a whiz a year later. I did notice EVERY question I asked an instructor in the beginning was BARELY one straight standard answer and you don't understand why UNTIL you have done some leg work yourself.

It looks like you are serious about learning but you are starting from the wrong end. Learn how to trade indexes first, options last. You must learn about timing entries first and this is easier on indexes. Premium gets lower faster then underlying and if you do not know how to boomerang it, you will never make a dime in options.

We are in our late 40s/early 50s and looking for an experienced, successful trader (i.e. profitable, multi-year track record) to teach us to trade in-person. We can travel freely and will come to you. We are good students and easy to work with. Are not interested in obtaining a Series 7 license or doing high volumes of daily trades. Would prefer trading one or a limited number of issues such as futures, indexes, currencies, ETFs, etc. Am flexible. Compensation to be mutually agreed upon and you will make lifelong friends. Please PM if you are interested and qualified. (Note: if you sell a $3000, 2 day course, make pretend you never saw this :)

"We" as in queen of England "we" ? The arrogance...Your post is an insult to all good traders here that invested years of hard work to build this kind of track record. Try DriveByTrading.com , I heard they are cheap.

Clowns I tell ya, no wonder why the circus is going under, the animals been hanging out here instead of their regular day job

Thats what happens when you put bad attitudes together, it spreads like crazy. A forum full of jealous losers.

Are we all really losing our cool around here or have May and June really been that stressful? C'mon man, chill out.

I thought that 'reply' from ozzy was childish but hilarious, specially if you put it within the context of the two previous posts. Happy start of the morning.

Relax and enjoy the ride. Not every post has to have a deep meaning around here ... gee.

Hey Brooks, I think you might want to consider getting together with some friends of yours from Tampa Bay, forming an investment club and start throwing some ideas around.

You will be surprised of what comes out when few smart people get round a table and brainstorm. At least you'll find it more fun and productive.

Just a thought!

Even with the kind of mentor you are looking for;
medical school is still a helpful comparison& a great teacher will not do away with the time & money required. of us.

Books , Brooksrhymes;
at the top of this page is a great place to start and even if you could get one of the best, like a Jack Schwager top trader-teacher, plenty of time & some capital is still required.
