Are the phone companies leaving themselves up to Billions in legal liabilities by giv

I believe they are quite exposed. I hope Verizon loses. This country is becoming a police state.

The lawsuits will probably come to naught. According to the NBC nightly news the Supreme Court held, back in the 70's, that the public knows that the phone companies keep records of phone calls and as such this is not regarded as confidential information. The government claims that personal info is not kept, just a database of numbers that is analyzed for patterns that could be linked to known terrorists. (We can believe everything the government tells us.......right?). So rest easy knowing that your elected officials are ever vigilant in protecting your freedoms, just relax and give up a little more privacy to the state. Big brother will protect you.
