Markets are basically algorithms trading vs other algorithms, ...if you knew how these markets actually traded you wouldn't want to even touch them ...

Isn't this the exact reason why a select few of retail people actually crush it and make exponential gains? Due to the understanding of how it operates?

I don't get the complaints. Market is straight up with no risk this month. It's a guarantee that every minor drop will lead to a V. Don't need to know much else.

I was reading that pre 2016 Index volume was 38% HFT arbitrage. I assume its more now.

arbitrage was always a factor in volume.

Yes, a good retail strategy is to ride the coatails of the insti.
Which means if instis are trapped by other big boys, retail likely got caught too
