Are microwave ovens dangerous?

As an aside to this thread... The series "Better Call Saul" has a character, Jimmy's (aka Saul) older brother... and he claims to have this "aversion to emf's" disease. House lined with tin foil, makes folks leave their cell-phones outside, can't have lights on etc lol.
Saul proved he was a nut case though a few episodes back.

Question. My radar detector goes off when pulling into my garage or starting the car when the ambient temperature outside (and in the garage) is approximately 54 degrees F. It never does it it at any other temperature. WTF is that about. Its intrigued me forever. Any theories? Note... it doesn't do it outside. Only in the garage.

Also note... the microwave would be right on the other side of the garage wall. I've always thought it must have something to do with that.

If I were in your shoes, I would look at humidity as well as storm activity's relationship. We do live in a charged atmosphere.

Most electronics (and the stuff they control) aren't really "off" unless all energy must flow through a physical switch--and that switch is in the off position.

Also, not hearing that sound the microwave makes when it's "running," doesn't necessarily mean it's not "running." That sound is from the fan, not from where the magic happens.

Forget to mention ... I saw that episode too and thought about it when I read about the guy trying to avoid radiation in his home in this thread.

They discovered microwaves heat things up when a guy died in a giant microwave antenna (working on it).

And - cook a scrambled egg in one, wait ten minutes, then try to eat it. MW food really sux. I guess it's okay for heating water and leftovers with lots of liquid, but I wouldn't cook anything else in it.
Germans won't use them.

^ I actually like how bacon cooks in the microwave. Sandwich the strips between two pieces of paper towels on a plate and the bacon turns out nice and crispy.

This is orders in power density higher than you will ever get from a properly operating microwave oven assuming you are not inside the oven.

If you were seriously concerned about electromagnetic waves you'd need to build a faraday cage and live in it without electricity.

Not to mention you need to stay in the dark and especially avoid polarized light.
