Why do you need to get fingerprinted just to be a member of an exchange? Second, once you become a member of the exchange, does your subscriber status automatically changes to "professional" for all the data fees at the other exchanges like NYSE, NASDAQ and etc.?

For the CME it definitely makes you a pro as you’re a member of an exchange:

For the other, I’m not an equity trader so I I’m not entirely sure but on a quick read..
For the NYSE, you’re a pro because if you’re a member of the NFA or if you’re a trust/org:

NASDAQ you’re a pro if you lease a seat but depending on if it’s done under a trust and how you’re related to the trust, it’s possible you could be a non-pro:
