Quality like having the worst battery in its class? Even my Xiaomi gets 2-3 days easily and it costs something like 1/3rd of an iPhone. Android apps are "trashy"? I've used both phones and there is no difference in apps other than Android is flexible when it comes to design.
The only point you're right about is the patching issue, Google needs to come up with a real solution to this. But that's what we get for getting flexibility, Apple has none.

iPhone fans are like people who still buy Nikes - yes in the 1980s that brand used to mean something but nowadays it's a relatively badly made shoe that costs more than the competition and won't last more than a few years.

How did you pick up a Xiaomi, online? how is it, I came close to buying one but instead went for a nexus, it was on sale and couldnt resist picking up a smartphone for $350 OFF CONTRACT, now a days any unlocked branded smartphone cost $600-$1000

In Asia it's easy to buy these lesser known brands, got it online for about $225 but could've gotten it even cheaper. It's unlocked and as for branding, it really doesn't matter as all the components are same that are found in the iPhones and Galaxies - Qualcomm CPU, Corning Gorilla glass, Sony camera etc. With Samsung and Apple products, around half of your phones price is the cost of marketing, I enthusiastically refuse to pay for that.
1 year on it's performing fine, some minor issues only, just like with every product.
