Right now I run an old Dell Precision 650 with dual Xeon and two 17" monitors; for the new setup I'm considering trying out a Mac.
I'd like to run 2-3 monitors and am open to either a desktop or a laptop. Hard drive space isn't a big deal to me and I'll be running trading software and some graphic software. Here's what I'm looking between:
Desktop: Mac Pro
2.66 Quad Core Intel Xeon
6gb memory
Laptop: MacBook Pro 15"
2.93 Intel Core 2 Duo
4gb memory
Do you see any pros/cons of using a laptop full-time (my existing setup runs 24/7) and what sort of performance issues could I expect? I'd also like any other opinions on the Mac Pro and MacBook Pro computers. Thanks.
