1/2" thick at thickest point. ~2lbs. Astonishing. Two things that would improve it instantly:

1) Make the screen be able to face outwards and touch sensitive. Bingo, instant "iPad" that is a general purpose computer.

2) For the love of God, give me a mat screen
 
Apple did some terrific things with the new iPad. Camera, lighter and thinner, core-duo and faster: outstanding. Still no mat version (hyper-critical for me) and no USB port for an external keyboard.

Pass for now.
 
Maybe a viable competitor?
