I agree, both sides will talk big but the ball is in Iran’s court. They escalate their proxy meddling or directly attack any US interest then Trump will respond, as well he should. Other than that both sides should step back. I would think back channel discussions have been going on.

Iran is now moving to have US forces expelled from Iraq. The Canadians have already pulled their forces. Our coalition is a wreck and our footprint is weakening.

We should be glad if we can avoid all our war but the fallout from this killing of Soleimani is not good for us.

I wonder how Americans actually in the US military overseas would feel about the ideas some Americans post on this site. That they are supposed to risk their lives because "wildchild" says taking out Iran would be easy. Or doing it all for Trump while he rides his fat ass around on a golf course tweeting insults and creating new enemies. It's really become a giant joke with very real tragic results. The US needs to dial back their aggression and tendency towards violence and become a better nation of people.
