IMO, that's a very bad idea. How 'bout we just nationalize banking and higher education? That ought to fix the problem too.

When you buy a car from Acura and get financing from someone else, does Acura assume the risk of you defaulting on the loan??...
When you buy a car they need to check your credit and if you are approved you may need to pay a higher rate for bad credit, because someone is at financial risk for defaultSchool just charges a price, no one puts a gun to your head to pay it. Why should a school take on the risk of the customer who is borrowing money.

You might want to think again about your thoughts haha
It's also hyperbole to drive a point home of how Mercor sounds to reasonable peopleIMO, that's a very bad idea.
That technology is the equivalent of a black and white tube TV. 15 years old at least. In tech years, like dog years, that might as well be a half century ago.As to the camera at lights etc, in NJ the police have license plate scanners. They know everything about you before they get out of the car.

It doesn't hold a candle to the invasive power of this stuff.
Sure they can drive around and read every tag that comes into view, but the info derived has heretofore been limited to a great degree.
Not to mention there's not a cop at every intersection inspecting every car. There is now. Plate scanners were the tip of the iceberg, this stuff is at the iceberg's base.
You failed to notice however, I was agreeing with you and the points you made.
A rare occurrence.
Making a small profit helps to cover the overhead and cost of running the loans....that is why Sallie Mae runs the same as Freddie and Fannie... that is why the progressive side is out of touch screaming about free colleges and no interest no profit school loans. If they dont make a profit to cover overhead then taxpayers still have to pay for it as it comes out of Dept. of Ed budget.
