This was my point in another posting. This is the perception but no where near the reality. AOC is a freshman congresswoman with no power whatsoever, just media attention from both sides. She will fade off when the real powers sit her down and tell her to shut the fuck up as every time she opens her mouth she sends non-coastal voters running for the other side.
EDIT: But GOP is putting her on a pedastal to be a target/representative of the Democratic Party new movement and they are wining the propoganda war on this, especially with Bernie still getting so much attention. In the ol days she would be told she has to earn her spot like everyone else and if she ran as a Democrat she needs to listen to the platform because it is complete bullshit her views are there to represent the 15,000 people who voted for her, she wants everything to change. Just keep the rack in place.

Many/most congressional reps are there for years with not much more to show for it than bills to name post offices in their district or co-sponsoring bills that sixty other people are also taking credit for and they signed on.
Meanwhile. Miss Bug-Eyes has this New Green Deal Bill in motion which the republicans are going to try to force a vote on in order to force the dems to go on record as loon or not-loon.
And the point has nothing to do with whether the bill passes or not or whether the dems even have any details to go with it. The point is that the little twit is doing plenty of damage- mostly to dems- but nevertheless she is a loon on steroids rolling around on the deck of the dem ship. Plenty of power for someone who has only been there a few weeks.
Her wings may melt in the medium to long run as happened to Icarus who tried to fly too close to the sun. But her long-range prospects are another matter. Right now. She is a big problem with lots of power. Obama said that the dems needed a fresh face with that "new car smell." Well there she is. Pelosi can figure out how helpful she is. Nothing like having your own little in-house campaign ad generator. The RNC should pay her.
New Green Deal was not her initiative, it was already being developed and they found a name to get it out to the press and public quickly. She is being used for her spotlight and her spotlight is not strong enough to overcome the established Dems who see her threat to their chances in 2020 with every socialist/communist attack against her and Bernie. The new guy/gal who makes waves and tries to go against the main line will find themselves marginalized real fast.
