Anyone with an issue getting TWS to launch this morning?

thanks d08 for sharing.
About a week back i tried their latest version MacBook it was frozen without any charts....so i am still with STABLE version. Let me a give a try with newer version over the weekend.

mskl, only way to get something that works without any breaking is to use STABLE version.
Previously i had multiple incidents with their latest versions messing charts and etc. on MacBook ....so i went with STABLE one.
For any S/W update there need to be a update release documentation as what they have updated. I find it difficult from IB to get such update release note.

Absolutely. There will Be dozens of updates over a span of time with no changelog

FWIW ... I test all my system/API updates with both the online version which auto updates, and the stable version. Fortunately I didn't try the online version this morning, and won't until IB figures this out. Many thanks to the forum for the quick heads-up !

So just logged in again and it already auto-updated to version 979.3f

Luckily I didn't have problems before, but maybe its because I just use the API and trade with Sierra Charts. This new version works just fine for me so far.

Unless they reverted to previous version I doubt they were able to adress all the different issues that happened

Whose data feed you use? IBKR or any third party?

IB data feed. There is an option in Sierra charts to download every 5 seconds a very accurate bar, and I have this set. Without this, the spikes sometimes cause the highs and lows to be off by a few ticks, but with this option, the data is damn well accurate.

I have also paid for the data from Sierra Charts which is very good, but I just don't need it, so after a few months of testing, I went back to IB. At the end of hte day, I always reload the data to get the very accurate data from Sierra Data Feed, and hardly anything changes.

The only drawback of IB data is the Bid/Ask volume is not accurate, so you can't use studies like cumulative delta or tick based charts.
