Anyone using Windows XP to output 4 monitors?

no, and with a matrox card you end up with 5 monitors

erie

You can have a better (not sure exactly what it is called) electrical receptical on the back of the tower put in if you want to be on the safe side.

I thought XP may be a bit too old to do so..

Will this make your computer unstable?

No. I run 6 monitors.... some guys here run 8. I think the XP maximum is 10.

If you want to run 4 monitors, have a proper mobo and proper video cards... Matrox is OK, but slower than Nvidia Quadro NVS.

Passmark scores for common, fanless, multi-monitor, multi-card video cards...

22, Matrox G450
159, Nvidia GeForce 8400 GS
205, Nvidia Quadro NVS 295

On one of my trading PCs, I have 5monitors hooked up.(1 agp-dual, 1 PCI-E dual, 1 PCI) nothing but trading......no updates. the other PC has all the junks and 2 monitors. haven't had a problem.

There weren't many mobos with both AGP and PCIE.

May I ask why you prefer XP to 7?

XP is already/still working perfectly. No reason to go through the hassle of changing. (I have W7 on a couple of other machines, but my trading stuff is still on XP. Besides, I don't see many/any benefit to running W7. It's said to be "more secure", but I don't have security issues with XP.)
