Anyone using Scottrade?

Hey they use GainsKeeper too? I use TDAmeritrade and have also noticed problems with the GainsKeeper. (like telling me that I have a wash sale when I don't)
I keep one account (out of four) with Scottrade purely for the check writing & ATM/debit card. Gainskeeper is also good and I only found one error since they added it. Send them a note through the website and they will correct it.
As for freezing up, I use the Elite platform and it's fine. You must be using the web based platform. I used that platform a couple of years ago when I started trading but I'd never go back to it. It's severely lacking and yes, it freezes up at the worst times.

I had Scottrade for about a week about 2 years ago, at the time there system would not allow you to put a trailing stop in within .15 of current bid / ask which was ridiculous. They didn't tell me that when I signed up and it may be something they have since changed.

I think it is still true. But it only becomes an issue if you are trading low priced or very low volatility stocks.
I trade ITM options so it doesn't usually effect me.
Do they definitely offer a cq writing and ATM card?

I don't like it. Too much stuff in the way,
when I do best focusing on the tape
with Marketmovers, simple live 1 and 5 min
charts and the streamer. The streamer
doesn't hold its favorited lists well, or you
lose the charts if you switch, so I stick with one list. I need to set up multiple monitors
to be able to watch more.

I do not recommend Scottrade.
I think Ameritrade blows them out of the water if you are looking into these types of brokers.
I got worse fills with Scottrade, their technology did not compare with Ameritrade, and the customer service was worse. I will say though that with Ameritrade you have to make sure you're talking to the right person to get a good answer. They have turned their reps into robots.
