anyone using nymex membership to save cost? what are the savings than non-member?

ComEd was institutional; all bilateral OTC requires a monstrous balance sheet. I was told by ComEd fifteen years ago not to pick up the phone if the counterparty didn't have a $200M letter of credit on file.
Given what has transpired since in the OTC energy markets, the $200M wasn't enough.
