Anyone use PowerOptions?

I did a search and only found a few references from like 2003. They seemed generally favorable.

Anyone have any current opinions?

Any recommendations for other reasonable priced subscription services? I'm not looking for speculation, just nice constant income.

(I ran across one, CompoundStockEarnings, that charges $1000/month AFTER you pay $1000s for their seminars. IIRC, it's $3000/month if you don't take the seminars. ) :eek:

I am a contract employee for Poweroptions,when I started, options was an investment area I was not familiar with. Since then I now trade options, both covered calls and naked puts using the SmartsearchXL screener.

Part of my employment duties is to review various web sites,at the risk of sounding partial I find that PowerOptions site to be easy to use, to understand, and easy to place successful trades as compared to sites that are difficult to use, confusing and downright impossible to understand.
 
I have been a Power Options subscriber since early 2002. I find that their SmartSearch XL is worth the money and much more.

Maybe Elite Trader should have a section for web service reviews, in addition to the broker and software reviews.

DO NOT make the mistake of scanning for the most profitable option plays without knowing info about the underlying stock, as they are often the highest risk plays. In addition, if an option play looks way better than all the others and too good to be true, it IS too good to be true.

Yeah, that's what I am seeing. The "best" ones I saw at PowerOptions were stocks like pharms that had a life or death FDA announcement coming soon, or stocks that had recently tanked and might go down a lot more. Too shaky for me. Didn't pull the trigger on any of them.

I see RedOption has a new CC advisory (could be used for NP I assume too). Anyone tried that one?
 
BTW, I didn't mean to say PowerOptions isn't good, only that the "subscription" price if someone doesn't know what he's doing can be VERY high.
 
One of those pharms was PPCO. They are supposed to find out if they get FDA approval on their one big prospect at the end of June (IIRC). PO had it listed as a CC play, but it might be better as a long straddle for July. Kind of expensive, but the stock should move quite a bit either way.

I guess the danger is that the announcement would be postponed or something like that.
