...Yet, I was pointing out that it would be very foolish to believe that one can trade full time off of 5min divergences only without incurring nasty drawdowns of the kind that nopm warned about. So I bring that up and people get ticked off.
But of course, blind followers looking for a holy grail really don't care to hear about the risks involved with such a method. So I'll leave it at that, no point pointing out what people don't want to hear.
I think what's bothering some was the
tone of your message...

...I see so many on this thread who are jumping in like they found the holy grail, and I would highly recommend to tone down the enthusiam... because ultimately, divergence is just one facet of market structure. Without a proper 'context', I highly doubt that divergence trading alone would help a trader reach real profitability or the full scope of his/her potential.
I also find it ironic that this system is generating such joy and enthusiasm when the VIX is at near 3 year low and the next market move is likely around the corner...
To tell a trader to control their enthusiam (tone it down) is pushy.
You then follow that with the
doubt word in the same paragraph when a few have said they use the method profitably so far.
Simply, your doubting their honesty.
You then follow that with the
ironic word in the context others are happy that no_pm shared the method.
In fact, I haven't seen anyone in this thread state that the method works in trending markets
My point is that I don't think those your arguing with are upset that the method doesn't work in trending environments.
I think they are upset with the
tone of your message via particular
words you used.
Then is a recent message...
Quote from ES335:
3 weeks later and the enthusiasm on this thread seems to have died down significantly... meanwhile, VIX bounced from 10 to12 on the December selloff and we have had the mother of all trended rallies in a long time. Anyone 'raking it in' with divergences?
I wonder where NoPM is now.
Geesh...now your taunting (raking it in) no_pm viewers eventhough most here probably have not been getting divergence signals due to the downtrend late December and due to the uptrend since the New Year.
Then in your most recent message...
You call those interested and continue discussing no_pm method as
blind followers looking for the Holy Grail.
If you don't see that as insulting then you probably don't see your first post in this thread as being somewhat offensive eventhough it started with good intentions.
As for no_pm whereabouts...anyone that has read how his prior thread had ended...
I would suspect he has not been around due to personal reasons and nothing to do with the divergence signals not appearing as often in the past few weeks.
