It is a generous contribution to ET,and for this I commend nopm, who stands out as a really helpful poster relative to the mindless/useless crap we see every day here.
But I'd like to remind everyone that he has been very open about the drawdown his system faced, which seemed quite large, although there were mitigating factors due to his day time job which may have affected his performance. That should warrant some cautiousness against blindly adopting this system, unless one can hedge with systems that can take advantage of trends.
I see so many on this thread who are jumping in like they found the holy grail, and I would highly recommend to tone down the enthusiam... because ultimately, divergence is just one facet of market structure. Without a proper 'context', I highly doubt that divergence trading alone would help a trader reach real profitability or the full scope of his/her potential.
I also find it ironic that this system is generating such joy and enthusiasm when the VIX is at near 3 year low and the next market move is likely around the corner...

3 weeks later and the enthusiasm on this thread seems to have died down significantly... meanwhile, VIX bounced from 10 to12 on the December selloff and we have had the mother of all trended rallies in a long time. Anyone 'raking it in' with divergences?
I wonder where NoPM is now.
Yes, mean reversion doesn't work all the time. What are u trying to prove here?Quote from ES335:

Nothing. I just saw this coming 3 weeks back. The infatuation with a one dimensional entry technique which can be very dangerous by itself. A lot of folks got on board, never seen so many posters suddenly agitate over a thread, and then BOOM market trends like a rocket, hahaha.
Anyhow, if people are making money using this, good for them.
I wanted to warn folks a while back to be careful and tone down their enthusiasm or get caught. I'm willing to bet that the divergence trading in last 3 weeks didn't work that great. We know that, you may say, so what? who cares?
I don't think people care, you're right. After all there must be many traders on ET who can stomach 40% drawdowns like Nopmplease did, so why should I bother warning people?

Interesting. Do u have a multi-dimensional entry technique?
Quote from ES335:
I think there is a time and place for everything. A time to counter trend ala nopm and a time to pile on a trend. Don't ask Marketsurfer for any help there, he'll try to convert you to his religion, which is... errrrr... ummm, who knows what he advocates, haha.
How do you feel about strategy in general? Would you only trade divergence as standalone if it was on/off in terms of profitability?

That's funny, first you come here laughing at peoplewho follow this thread, now you ask for suggestions on the very same thread.
You'd better make up your mind buddy.
