anyone trading Brooks or studying him

Check out this, OP. NoDoji was very much into Al Brooks, I think, but her own trading plan was designed from her backtested data.

Your problem seems to be that you're a believer. You believe in Al Brooks because what he says makes sense or because he seems like an expert.

Never do that with anyone. That goes for most things in life. We too easily trust authorities.

Only believe (and trade) what you have found yourself to be true based on your own studies.

Yes, let us be fair. If he sells a service based on what he supposedly does for a living and has a chat room for this very purpose then, yes, he should show his trades. Any one trade may not work out, but he ought to be making money on balance to justify his existence to you. Yet he does not. Rather, he couches his "probability" observations and slips like a salamander on to the next "probability" observation. I could do that all day about shit I know nothing about if I never allowed myself to be pinned down to a specific position. And that is exactly what he does.

You're a bit too starry-eyed to appreciate the obvious.

i am not an idiot.

he never said he was going to declare trades.

DAVID Fuller is the only one i have seen in 30 years who declares trades as he makes them.

so it is NOT unusual

if he offers no value.........find something someone else.

Regarding probabilities, I know Al talks about that, but it was also revealed in another thread how Al revealed that his probabilities wasn't based on detailed records, but merely estimations he made up himself from 'experience'.

yes .

exact probabilities is not necessary so why look for exact figures.

But that is true of every strategy out there.

How does Brooks moving average or oscillator strategies

HE DOES NOT MISLEAD THAT IT IS.

if i had read him 30 years ago instead of 100s others i would have never started trading.

because i am a perfectionist and trading is no place for one.

Brooks is the only one who makes things clear.

you are criticizing him for the nature of markets.

if you follow him his first book you will have an edge.

i do not follow him because i am a perfectionist and trading is no place for me to be in.

i lose because i do not follow him......not because i do.

that is my statement and i am saying that if you follow him, you will make money.

if you want to say brooks and me is an idiot, you can.

if someone asks me for help with trading i direct him to brooks.....his book is 75 usd the cost of a good meal in a restaurant

it is ridculous to say what he teaches in his first book does not work.

because what he teaches is basic technical analysis.

so if you say brooks is a scam then the whole of technical analysis is a scam too.

i am not here to prove or disprove anything.

for a beginner brooks is good and helpful.......that is my take.

Why is it not necessary?

Regardless, the point was that if Al claims (only an example) that a specific set-up works 80 % of the time, you can't trust that as he does not seem to have actually computed the numbers.

his teaching is not new

it is 100 years old.

so why pick on Brooks

Well, I specifically said that this advice would relate to everyone else, too. I'm not picking on anyone.

The Bible is nearly 3000 years old. Doesn't mean you should accept it as truth.
