Anyone still using Stratasearch for backtesting/strategy development?

Hi Steve,

Having used different GA software I just tested stratasearch out of curiosity and I was surprised about all the possebilities. However, I cannot download the PDF manual that seems to be helping many users. Could anybody please help me getting the PDF manual? I also understand there used to be a good stratasearch forum. Does anybody maybe
have a backup of that?

Hi Steve,

I did not use Stratasearch till now but have used some other programs like adaptrade, strategyquant. Finally I bought GSB 2 years ago and it has an edge because it has good ways to to find OOS performance. It has some features like omitting data IS and later testing if the system works as good on the IS unseen data as with the seen IS data. That sounds weird but it is a way to filter out curvefits that do not work OOS. It also does good WF analysis and there are many filters where you can reject systems being Walk forwarded. Systems that do not walkforward well for multiple periods also perform bad OOS.
That said I am very curious about Stratasearch because it has some unique features too like sector analysis. Could you please help me with the PDF manual of Stratasearch?

I tried to use a gmail account for sending emails with daily signals.
However gmail doesn't seem to be supported.

Does anybody know which email service is still supported?

Could someone please sent a picture of the email settings that still work?

SteveM - Thanks for the link. It did work. But it will only work once and then they will delete the file. Just to see, I tried it a 2nd time and the link would not work again.

Here are some links where some guys are discussing Statasearch.

Also they posted a link to download version 4.5.42, and it did download for me, and it did install.

But what I don't know is if it will run, because under
"Setup/System Setting/Subscription" there is a place for a user name and a PW. There is also a place/window for a serial number.

I thought I read somewhere that there was a free version and I don't know if version 4.5.42 is it.
