Anyone mining Ethereum from home?

He does not ive in the US or in New York City. The 21.4 cents per kWh New York area households paid for electricity in May 2021 was 52.9 percent more than the national average of 14.0 cents per kWh.

Wow. My $0.09/kw is a bargain.

2.8kWh is a daily figure

If you are paying $0.30 per kWh then 2.8 kWh costs you $0.84, reducing your daily profit to $2.16. So 462 days until break even!

2.8kWh (as in kilo-watt per hour) is an hourly figure. So it is 0.3*2.8*24=$20.

A few years ago I saw a movie where a geek mined bitcoins using electricity from wind turbines and solar panels (illegally of course).

Can't remember the name of the movie.

TIme to go back to school. It's not PER hour.

Something consuming 116W constantly over a 24 hour period consumes 2.8kWh of electricity. So Electricity costs are $0.84 or around 28% of your mining income in this example.

The unit of kWh is kW per hour. An appliance, like a kettle, rated at 3kWh draws 3kW in an hour.

In the case of your mining rig, it would be rated at 0.116kWh.
