I've only done the cold showers. Haven't tried an ice bath (yet?). I can imagine which of the two is the more..."challenging," but how do they compare? From my experience my Ice baths have been painful for about 48 seconds then my body acclimates.

Yeah, I figured I was getting off easy with just the showers. I imagine the full immersion of a bath is more challenging than a shower even with water at the same temperature. But just as a point of reference, since you noted that the showers are nowhere near as cold, do you live in a warm climate, or one that gets very cold in winter? The ice baths that I've done are in the 34-37 degree range and I've spent like 3-4 min in it at a time. My shower is no were near that cold. So one is enjoyable next to the other. hahah
I finally did get the ice and took the bath this past weekend. I stayed in for 5 minutes, and somewhat assimilated after the first 2. Lake Michigan in January is quite a bit worse, but probably because when you get out of the water there is no break in the freezing.
Was that before or after the ob-gyn slapped you?"Rebirthing" breathwork. One hour of continuous breathing...Insane is all I can say...out of body experience kind of shit. I almost started to cry lol. i'm serious. good stuff.

Are you looking to gradually extend the breath holds, or do you plan to keep them in this range?I went ahead and timed it tonight for the heck of it. I don't intend to consistently watch my times, as the last time I started to focus too much on that aspect it felt like.
1:59, 2:16, 2:32
BP after was 107/70 and heart rate 59
I may start checking those after and keeping track.
Are you looking to gradually extend the breath holds, or do you plan to keep them in this range?
Also, did you finally get a pulse oximeter?
I am trying for longer holds, but not going to get obsessed about it like I was starting too originally. I'll check my times once or twice a week, as well as BP after the session. I am reordering the oximeter this week. I waited for the rest of the family to come up with an Amazon order. Are you looking to gradually extend the breath holds, or do you plan to keep them in this range?
