Without remembering the poster who posted time and sales, he didn't fill above the bid, he was the best offer. Looks like it was put in as a limit of 8.45 and several buyers/buyer poked st it in small chunks to eat it up. The few 99/101 buy lots would make me think it's some sort of automated buyer. Either he entered it st 8.45 or the software forgot a 1. One or the other
I posted the time and sales because I'm the victim of that erroneous trade. I kept a screen capture of it. I wanted to hit a bid at $18.85. According to my broker website, there was a bid of 43x100 shares. And that bid whas still there about 3 seconds before I sent my order. Exactly why the trade went at $8.85 is a mystery. But it's the second time that I experience a technical glitch with my broker. That explains why I'm not totally surprised. No system is foolproof. That's why there are some rules to protect investors against potential mistakes.
