I finally figured out what an options is and its sounds pretty good.

Ready to go. How do you guys go about finding good stocks to invest in. Any advice would be greatly greatly appreciated.

I think TDA and ToS are very excellent for novice and seasoned traders alike. They have good scanning facilities to pick potential trades from.
Poweropt.com has a one-week free trial and free scans for options/spreads. I like them, lots of free education as well. They are priced reasonably.
NOTE: I have no affiliation with them other than a satisfied customer.

P.S. also watch fast money on Friday for options, they will give you tips. This Friday they touted MS
