I just wanted to say that I really enjoyed meeting everyone last night. It's very interesting talking to so many people excited about trading but coming from different perspectives and niches.
In total I believe we had ten people show up. Very good turn out in my opinion.
Thanks to everyone for making the trek downtown. The Mill was a little crowded and loud so getting a chance to talk to everyone was tough.
I would like to chance to talk with everyone more, I'm not sure I could remember everyones real names compared to their handles. If everyone wouldn't mind, could you PM me your first name again with a short description of what your trading? This would help jog my memory when talking in the future.
Also, one of the things that NYSE Trader and I talked about last night was the idea of a "study club" for lack of a better term.
Im not interested in an investment club scenario talking about picking stocks. More so, I'm interested in expanding my knowledge in other areas of trading. The trading I do is very specific and concentrated in one market with a strategy that I have refined over the last few years and it sounds like that's what others have done as well.
I would be happy to share some of the things that I do and would love a chance to learn about other aspects of trading. Reading only goes so far, but talking with people face to face, like last night was great! Speaking of reading though, one thing I do is continually read about different aspects of trading. The books, or articles we have read could be another avenue of discussion for the "Study Club". I'm just brainstorming something I've been kicking around for awhile, I'd love to hear others thoughts, comments, or opinions about doing this.
As I said earlier the conversations I had last night with everyone I really enjoyed. I could tell that there was alot of talented people who were all "hungry" to either start or continue to pursue being the best traders they could be. I like being around that!
