Does this happen even more on NASDAQ?

I only trade AAPL and GOOG on Nasdaq, but I don't see this happen as much I believe. Why is that?

true...steve, have you been profiting with it? taking the other side?
 
I've seen this in a few of the stocks that I trade too. I think it means that there is an absence of determined, desperate buyers/sellers in these stocks and that someone is trying to game that fact. I have been able to game it a couple of times, but then I got buried in one today too.

I think I could possibly do it if there was an option to be able to click directly on level 2 and maybe left click to put in the order and right click to delete it.

I think it actually might be possible on Sterling as well, not sure yet.

I don't think I would ever do that though, just think it is possible if extremely fast able to put in orders and take them away as well.
 
man you guys are complicating this,, if there fake,, you buy or short into them,, you know this once confirmed as they keep pulling,,, there scalping,, somtimes they get lucky and can aid the stock up and up ,, or down and down,,, the get screwed somtimes no doubt,, but there p/l is going up 100 by 100,, not few bucks here and there,, stop thinking so hard,, make it simple,, and dont compete,, just feed of the big fish..
 
they have hot keys,, they are quick,,, very swift with the keys.....

of course you can avoid this all by being a swing trader, as in holding for hours... but if you want to play in the bs, this is what your into.
 
believe me, you cant. not the ones I'm seeing. they put in offers of 5600 at 40.55, 8700 at 40.56 3800 at 40.58, 6800 at 40.59 in a split second and then they are all gone and less than a second later there are bids of 5800 at .51, 9600 at .52, 7000 at .53 etc.
