Anyone else have bad US equity options quotes from IB??

Quote from bungrider:

Let me clarify - I meant that IB was having a problem displaying the data from certain exchanges, i.e. CBOE. My esignal feed was showing, for example, an offer from CBOE that I wanted to take, but IB was not showing this offer. I used a limit order (SMART routing) at the CBOE offer price, and IB sent the order to ISE, locking the market.

About 2min later, IB finally showed the CBOE offer and when I hit it, it autoexecuted right away...so the auto-ex theory seems right on from where I'm standing...

What happened to the old system with color-coding bids and offers depending on whether autoex was available or not?? This new system of not showing them at all is bullshit...

The only recent change IB made (Jan 2003) is that they no longer will display quotes that don't indicate auto executions in SMART. However, as I stated and as you have seen, these flags can be wrong. I illustrated many examples.

I also complained a few weeks ago that the flags were often wrong and routing was affected and routing should be fixed.

It seems there are two issues now. (routing and posting all quotes)

IMO, all quotes should be shown in SMART and routing should "not" be based on these often incorrect flags.

I could easily come up with "better" routing. However, I'm not familiar with all the routing costs. (cancel fees etc).

I'm shocked that it took a full week for someone else to notice.

How can you trade with such junk pricing?

You don't rely on IB's quote (get an alternative data feed). And you have to direct orders (paying twice the commission) when auto's are available but IB won't route there because the flag is wrong. (Mainily happens at the CBOE).

That sucks ...
