Any workable ideas to curb gun violence in the US?

Why should white, law abiding Americans who infrequently use firearms in the commission of crimes, cede perhaps their most valuable Constitutional right?

Many cities ALREADY have enacted handgun prohibition. Washington D.C. is one of them. Safe place, not.

Then again some nations like Switzerland have near compulsory laws requiring gun ownership. Few would consider Geneva as violent as Detroit.

Look at a list of America's most dangerous cities. mmmhhh, they seem to have something in common, right? Whether it's Africa, the Caribbean, Brazil, South London or many areas of America, murder rates rise to unseen heights because of minority participation.

more and more restrictions on manufacturing..

more and more restrictions against purchase.

may take quite some time (several hundred years perhaps) but guns will become scarce and eventually so rare and expensive that very few could afford them on black market.

you can't just immediately disarm the general population of law abiding citizens, they will have no way of protecting themselves when bad guys storm the doors to their homes. the cat's out the bag now, too many guns, too easy for bad guys, too easy to get

but eventually, with restriction on sales and manufacture, guns will break go into disservice be difficult to replace become too expensive.. and so on

but at same time we can't allow other types of weapons to proliferate.

no easy answer, this will take time but it can be done |and should, imo :|

i mean who wants a society where we are all armed to the teeth?

I think England is largely white people, they banned guns, the murder rate went down a little... I say keep the guns, learn to stay away from dangerous places/people and you are better in the long run, socialists can't get full control until we give up our guns...
