About the TWS panels: you may want to read this page from their manual: https://www.ibkrguides.com/traderworkstation/activity-panel.htm
The very last screenshot on that page shows that there is sometimes a symbol, at the left side of the ticker name. See here: https://www.ibkrguides.com/traderworkstation/resources/images/rightclick.png See the red dot left of the QQQ order in this screenshot. If you hover your mouse over this symbol some explanatory text might pop up related to that specific order.
i'm not sure how any of the above applies to me since the cancelled tickers are not even listed to begin with?
i appreciate the tips although i was aware of these.
One more thing you need to be aware of is that TWS only shows trades for the current trading day, unless you have changed the setting to also show trades of the last x days (x can be 7 at maximum). I forgot where that setting is hiding because I hardly ever use TWS.
well, thats a shame, bc yes, i gathered that from your earlier post, but its the exact info that i'm looking for, that you found at one time, that i can't find now.
And no, once an order has been cancelled by IB it will not "magically" be revived by IB some time later. Once cancelled it is gone, and you would have to recreate your order. IB is not telepathic, they can't read your brain and place randomly orders to what you might have intended to do under changing circumstances.
who is asking for magic or telepathy? i don't think its a crazy request for IBKR to simply suspend a potential trade if a margin issue arises. to cancel it completely and then not have a simple way to reinstate it (once a user satisfies any necessary criteria), or even reference it (after midnight) is not imo, user friendly.
