Ok, that's fair. But then, why are you reading this thread? the same thing can be said for any luxury item. You should be "beyond" us mere mortals who enjoy nice things... that is who this forum is for.

with that said, 99% of the population would not recognize high end watch beyond rolex or another diamond covered nonsense. it is more like a tribal signaling device. I know i rarely get comments at all when i wear my best pieces no one knows what they are-- and that is the point. those who know know and i have made long term friends who i met via talking watches-- so i think you are being a little extreme.

For once I have to agree with you. For years I wore a succession of Jaejer LeCoultre, Breuget TransAtlantique, Omega Moon Edition SpeedMaster and an IWC Pilots Chrono and might as well have been wearing a Timex.
