Any Troubles with IB TWS 865?

Quote from risktaker:

In defense of IB here, I've had a few suggestions for improving TWS which they've done and it's working great. They have a "poll" on their site where customers can suggest/vote for certain features which is a great idea. The drawback *is* frequent updates but rarely is anyone forced to upgrade. There is also a beta version usually running so I think overall their process has worked great (at least for me.) I've been with IB for almost 6 years now. One can usually roll back to a prior version if things are not working as expected.

The upgrade issue is a new one. I had been using an old version because I wasn't interested in the upgrades. And I had had problems before with an upgrade, which is why I went back to an old version in the first place.

This time, though, the upgrade was forced, and there's no reason why IB and SC couldn't have toned down the testosterone long enough to figure out the problem rather than put their clients through all this "it's not our fault, it's their fault" nonsense.

*take deep, cleansing breath*

I use BookTrader for YM futures and always include a bracket with my orders. Under 865 the stop order is created at the same price as the limit order which caused shorts that I initiated to be closed immediately upon being filled.

I went back to 864.7 and everything worked fine as before.

This problem is fixed in TWB build 865.6.

I agree with all you have said here. TWS 865 has been an exception to the great success of IB's software development group. But, you can only wonder how there could be so many bugs in one TWS version upgrade. I will be glad when we can get past this upgrade.
