Any Traders in Pittsburgh?

I am toying with the idea of opening a prop office in the Burgh because of the low cost of living and large pool of smart kids coming out of Pitt and CMU. anyone interested please PM me.

Spot on. I remember very well even though I left Pittburgh for Raleigh.

stanley drukenmiller??

Retired I guess - but that's a good one. I would have loved to land a gig sweeping the floors at Duquesne Capital.

I have a sneaking suspicion that there are other, smaller, groups at work in the area. I came across one trading muni bonds where 5-6 traders were doing well.

According to the Wall Street Journal, on August 18, 2010 Druckenmiller "told clients that he's returning their money and ending his firm's 30-year run, citing the 'high emotional toll' of not performing up to his own expectations." He indicated it was not easy to make big profits while handling very large sums of money.

Thanks for the info. I have not followed him for awhile. having grown up in the Burgh, the only thing i miss about that place is the pizza and music scene.

I'm in the Pittsburgh area...primary experience with futures spreads and phys/fin electricity. Very few options around that I've found with regard to trading. Feel free to pm me if you want to talk more.

Jack Reacher is from Pittsburgh. He trades insults and kicks in the balls.

Seriously, I can't wait for Friday when the movie is released. There was a big PR hoopla planned for last Saturday, Lee Child and Mr. Scientology both present. Not to mention the world premier of the movie, but because of the shootings in Con. they scrapped the idea....

The soundtrack is killer too, done by Joe Kraemer....

Having lived in Pittsburgh 7 years I can attest its a great community and fantastic place to live however, in terms of capital markets, business of finance its a desert.
