Any reason why my monitors would cycle off and on again out of nowhere?

Why would you run a "3rd party utility" to potentially accommodate conflicting video when all that is necessary is to run compatible video sources? DON'T BE A SCHMUCK. KISS! If you run 2 video cards, make sure they are both the same model!! Sheesh!

W10 is excellent/perfect unless you f*ck it up with stupidity!

There was an article that said Windows 11 would fix the windows reshuffling problem.
This is not true. It didn't work.

There are hundreds of complaints about the windows reshuffling problem on the internet.
But there is zero solution.
Microsoft cannot (or doesn't want to ) fix this problem.
Most likely the big organizations are not using Microsoft products
or they don't lock (CTRL - L ) their PC.

anyway, every time I unlock my PC, I have to spend a couple of minutes to
rearrange the windows that have been reshuffled.

I'm not doing W11.. but W10 does not have that problem , nor did W7... (unless possibly due to video card/driver issues).

The entire notion of Windows "sleep" and "hibernating" has been plagued with problems over the years. Better to shut down and restart, IMV.

You mention "locking/unlocking"... suggest shutting down and rebooting and see if your problems resolve.

If you use DP ports, Microsoft Windows 10 or 11,
and have multiple monitors,
and if you lock (CTRL L) your PC,

you will be guaranteed to have windows reshuffling problem
after you unlock your PC.


The problem started when DP port was invented.

so many people would say :
go google for a solution.
Unfortunately, no one in this world has come up with a solution.
Not even Microsoft.

Well... I use W10 and shut down/restart every day with zero problems, running 4x, UHD monitors. Therefore must suspect that problems are user specific.

Suspect problems with "locking", "hibernating", "sleeping"... always seems to be problems and complaints with those.
 
You have probably tried all the standard troubleshooting techniques. Let's think creatively.

The esignal being displayed ACROSS two video cards (as opposed to being mirrored displays) might be the cause. This makes the CPU jump bus paths to deliver on related tasks displayed thru different hardware.

Try running the esignal app only on displays being run by one card, any one card. Use the others as you please, but stay conscious of spreading an app across cards.

Great explanation. The same applies to all sorts of video cards. Displays on multiple monitors easily get messed up when computer resuming from suspend or sleep. Some trading platform has a feature to save the layout configrations. It helps to recover quickly from problems.
 
Thanks for all the replies everyone, appreciate it.

I assumed it had something to do with waking back up from sleep mode, but wasn't 100% sure and didn't really know the 'why' of it. I never had this issue on my older comp which was running Win7, I just switched over to W10 so this was new to me (yes I know I am way behind the times).

Simple fix if that's the case, disabled sleep mode.
