Any reason not to trade 6E over EURUSD?

Quote from Swan Noir:

I am a fairly new trader that has only recently moved from "paper trading" to reality. In preparation I paper traded a single NQ contract attempting to catch swings and not seeking scalps. I now trade cash the same way I prepped on paper.

They $5 NQ tick and the relative "smoothness" of NQ (relative to ES' tendency to "trade back") are not confidence building as much as fear reducing ... lol.

I am not understanding why the roundabout style that entails higher commissions is confidence building. Even if, as you point out, one leg can bail out the other you still have to be long the correct leg and short the correct one because if you get it backward the relative discrepancy in their movement will go against you.

I am all for the new guy risking less. It is crucial to stay in the game long enough to climb the curve. I'm just not sure the trip to Boise and the extra commissions does that.

I will be happy if I am wrong and I can reduce my exposure in these early days but I am not yet seeing it.

Sorry if I didn't make it clear. This is an okay strategy for someone learning multiple time frame trading. But just okay. If a trade covers commissions and makes a decent profit then pay the commissions.

However if you are a new trader you have a lot to learn before you try multiple time frame trading. And even then this strategy will only work if you have a very good grasp of counter trend trading.

Got it. Thanks.

Veyron -- you clearly stated in a previous post that the listed FX options are American-style, when in fact they are Euro-style. You can't possibly mean OTC, as both are offered, and countless deals are struck in the 100-500MM size each day in the OTC markets. Would you care to address your monumental brain-fart?

Here you go smart guy:

Out smarted yourself this time, no?

American Style Currency Pair Options traded all day long right under your little nose and you never even knew it.

Huh, some "elite" traders you guys turned out to be. More like, clueless traders, if you ask me. You don't even understand your industry well enough to be discussing this topic - let alone posting completely off the mark retorts.

Next time, do your homework BEFORE typing. You might not look so silly - brain fart. :p

Duh.... Oh, snap.... The Windows Title Bar in the pic I posted ALREADY tells you as much, Einstein. Sir. Albert. Sir. Albare' (with that little English accent on the rolling "t."

What's the point?

In fact, what was the point of clowning yourself by saying that American Style Options did not exist? Go read the original question, then my original reply and THEN your reply to my original reply and you might figure out what you did wrong, here.

Here is my guess at what he is talking about by "wrapping multiple positions around one single pair." This can be done using different time frames but it's a beginners way to trade multiple time frames.

Nice try. I'll give you a "A" for effort and articulation of your position and thought process.

However, what you have posted is most assuredly NOT the way I trade. I trade a SINGULAR time-frame with a SINGULAR pair, wrapped by multiple positions and that's all I'm saying. And, it works pretty well given the results from this week that I posted in the other thread.

Good try, however. I was a beginner many years ago in this business.

Sorry D-bag, I stated that they do not exist on any exchange in the US. I stated they did exist OTC. Then you spent 4 days attempting to locate a dealer with less than $40MM in capitalization to prove my point.

Uh... those PFG Best vanillas are EURO-STYLE. Feel free to call PFG's desk or I K O N Global and ask for yourself. Ask for Robbie at PFG Best or Sarah at I K O N.

Do you even know what you are talking about? Why not just admit that you were wrong and get it over with, clown.

How the heck can the options that I posted here be ESO's - huh! Can you explain how to "trade" and ESO before the EXP?

Some you "elite" traders are beyond belief. I spent 4 days searching for OTC options? What!?! I spent 4 seconds posting the link because I knew where they were.

You're serious? You can't be.

PFG BEST, same question, ask for the FX trade desk: 800.333.5673

I K O N trade desk, ask about the exercise convention on the vanilla FX options: 1-212-482-8270 24 Hours

The PFG platform is the I K O N platform. lol, you can trade Euro-style options, you just can't exercise 'em prior to expiration! THE PIC YOU POSTED DISPLAYS EURO-STYLE OPTIONS AT PFG BEST. PFG or I K O N will be happy to inform you of that fact.
