Please forgive my ignorance, but what is meant by "trade around"? Also, I was wondering if you can be long & short on the same stock within the same account. I would be interested in the same account because of margin requirment implications.
thanks,
Walt

Trading at home via a instant messenger or what not is not the same as trading in a office. The mental support is just not the same. No technology will make it feel authentic.

Quote from Don Bright:
"Trade around" simply means that you might like to keep a core position of 1000 shares of a stock, but also hit bids and buy back, intraday to take advantage in price fluctuations. Go home long each day for the long run.
If you are long 1000, and short 1000, you are basically flat, no matter what accounts the stock is in. And, If you're flat, the margin requirements go away, right?
