Any other members here who enjoy shaving in the manly way, with a Straight Razor?

I been shaving with a straight razor since long before it became cool. Lately there has been a lot of media exposure and straight shaving seems to be trending. Here's a vid I just did this afternoon.

Couple of points here...(Never had the pleasure of experiencing a straight razor, meself)

A. I was very impressed with the speed in which you took the whole beard down to smooth skin without any intermediate stages. Like for me, using a Mach 3, I'd have to get the scissors first, then buzz it with a barber trimmer, then get the safety razor. Quite efficient!

B. Would that work for shaving the head? Seems too scary running that across a round skull dome.

C. Without the beard, you are no longer a scary GrowleyMonster like your avatar pic. Now more like the kittens you are chasing.

It all damages skin leaving small wounds which get infected, I'm not a fan of shaving at all. Rather use proper scissors to cut it close.

What about "manscaping"? That seems even more scary. :)
There is sort of a running joke in the straight shaving community regarding a type of razor called a "weinerschaber" which is actually meant for trimming moustaches but the name sounds in English like something else with an even more specialized purpose.

It has been many years since I have dropped a razor while shaving. Nevertheless I always either dress before shaving, or lean solidly against the vanity to prevent catching a falling razor with my lil buddy.

Sure, you can do manscaping with a straight razor, just be very sure of your grip on the razor. You could maybe construct a "weinerguard" out of pvc pipe, I suppose. I don't worry about all that metro millennial manscape stuff, myself. Do you know there are even special razors for shaving your own back? I don't know... that doesn't sound very manly, to me. But what do I know? I even have hair on my knuckles. And anybody, particularly other men, who notices my hairy back, are a little too close, anyway.

Morning of your wedding, has to be done but otherwise..

I have shaved with one many times just to see what it's like but really, even a decent twin blade can produce better results. I used to use Mach 3's but years ago found your basic Shlick/Wilkinson Sword far better for me.

During lockdown I grew my first several months bears, new challenge to get the old Captain Ramius look ;) its a lot easier except for the ketchup in moustache..

I don't shave, but I do use one of those electric clippers to keep it looking clean. I'm lucky though with my genetics as I only grow hair on my face and not on my neck so I never have to use a razor to clean that up.
