Thoughts from other potential members of our special-interest-group?

My preliminary plan of meetups:
1. Share educational resources (papers, articles, softwares, etc.)
2. Discuss papers, articles, programming, etc.
3. Assignments for paper reading panelist and discussion leaders, etc.
4. Assignments for programming and IT jobs, etc.
5. Invitation of vendors to give us presentations, etc.
6. Attend HFT-related events.

I can bring programming and general tech skills to the table. I would like to join in and can meet in person.

Not a dick... But sounds like a failing/struggling trader that has been skeptical about this business because everyone is making money but him. lol
This sounds like a great idea. Too many people in this business think they know everything...and they don't. I've learned a bunch of valuable info from this site.
