The sad news for me is that this summer I sold my 1970 Mustang Convertible. I bought it between my junior and senior year of high school, with paper route money. I did the body in high school, new top, later had the engine done by some guys who race the 351 Cleveland. Man, it got it. It was a sweet ride. But... it was in Pennsylvania for a while. They used to salt the roads, and it had rust bad. It had been off the road for years and though under cover, still deteriorating. I had no idea when I was going to have the money to fix it up. So I sold it.
Post divorce, that has been the theme.
Acceptance and then purging.
Out with the old and in with the new.
The new you might ask? Well, it's new to me, a 1981 Honda CM400 Custom. It had only 8,300 miles on it. I put 1,200 miles on it in the first 2 months. It has been a blast. It's great for this little town, and enough bike for me to have some fun on, I put the kid on the back, and yet not get myself in trouble. I haven't ridden since I was 16, and that was dirt bikes. So now, I ride. One of the best things I ever did. I'm riding NOW.
