BREAKING NEWS - NYT

A Republican senator who was at the White House immigration meeting said President Trump did not use a vulgarity to describe Haiti and Africa

A Republican senator who attended a Thursday immigration meeting at the White House forcefully denied on Sunday that President Trump had used the phrase “shithole countries” in describing Haiti and African nations, saying a Democratic senator’s account of the session was “a gross misrepresentation.”

Senator David Perdue, Republican of Georgia, said on ABC’s “This Week” that Mr. Trump “did not use that word,” and accused Senator Richard J. Durbin, Democrat of Illinois, of distorting what the president had said at the meeting, which included more than a half-dozen lawmakers.

Senator Tom Cotton, an Arkansas Republican, joined Mr. Perdue later in the morning in questioning Mr. Durbin.

“I didn’t hear that word either,” he said on CBS’s “Face the Nation.” “And I was sitting no further away from Donald Trump than Dick Durbin was.”

Mr. Cotton said Mr. Durbin “has a history of misrepresenting what happens in White House meetings,” a comment that Mr. Perdue echoed in his interview Sunday morning.

So it turns out the entire story was a fabrication from Democratic Senator Richard J. Durbin, who has a long history with trouble telling the truth.

Not to Liberals.

This can be demonstrated when anything is posted to this forum from FOX or Breitbart.

Since they have a clear slant/bias, the definition of support applies to them. Also the reason why you won't see them winning any journalistic recognition.

For all the ppl who prefer sh!thole countries over Trump's America. We should create a goFundMe. They can use the money and leave, denounce their American citizen ship and never return. Help make American great again.

The third or fourth wife Trump paid for was imported from which country? Does it count as a shithole?

Do Alabama and Mississippi count as shitholes? They sure look like third world countries in many aspects except for the rampant inbreeding, even shithole countries have values.

No to the first. They were white people countries.

In your second example, Moreso than Minnesota because there are more black people but less so than Puerto Rico which is a brown person terroritory.

The problem wasn't the "shithole" remark. It was that he was really saying he didn't want black people. He wanted white people to immigrate here. His immigration policy has nothing to do with skills. It has everything to do with assimilation - the same way nazi germanys immigration policy had to do with assimilation: not on moral character or life philosophy but rather on skin and eye color.

For the alt-righties this is a great policy. For everyone else it's abhorrent.

" ... had used the phrase “shithole countries” in describing ..."

It appears, imo, the whole issue has now been shifted and misled to an unintentionally unplanned direction.

Saying the keyword SH perhaps is not critical nor the real issue, but the context of it is. imo

c.f. "We need to help the people there with urgent actions, as the environment and conditions they are currently living in is just like a bloody SH country !"

Or, actually a really good plan indeed, after all! lol

You're suggesting I travel to the worst areas of these states. Meanwhile I was just touring around back then, not seeking out slums in particular. There's a difference.

Touring Mississippi and Alabama? What was this, a banjo playing tour?
