Anyone that wants free elections or values their freedom & civil rights...living under a dictator would be hellish. Those that want a dictator are just a sell-out to their ethnicicity, race or religion.

Or simpletons who don't think very deeply.

While I think a smaller number of Dems would want a dictatorship than republicans thats only because of the divide between progressive and moderate democrats with progressives not wanting a moderate democrat like Biden for life.Democrats were fine with FDR serving for life. While he did win 4 elections that was just a formality imo.
In addition, although not yet tested, presidents can pardon state charges as well owing to The Federal Supremacy Clause in The US Constitution.Of course presidents can pardon themselves. They are the executive branch.

That will change when Trump and his AG takes office.
Bidens own DOJ said he is guilty in the documents case.Since he wasn't acquitted in court nor was the case dismissed without prejudice the next AG can probably charge him with that immediately.I'm not expert on that but you can be sure that Trumps DOJ will charge Joe and Hunter with multiple cases and will likely pressure GOP State AGs to charge them too.Unlike Trump Biden won't have donors to pay his legal bills.
I think deep down most would love dictatorships as long as thier guy is the dictator.
Nearly half of The US does. The only reason it isn't more is because The US is politically split 50-50.
While FDR did dictatorship like things like The Japanese internment camps ,seize peoples gold, tried to pack The SC with his judges etc.
The fact that most Dems were fine with FDR serving for life and most Republicans are fine with Trump serving for life it is credible to say most would like a dictatorship if it was their guy that was the dictator.
Well, it's not all that special...becoming a history stereotype:
