Any Advice for Finding Data

Hello Everybody,

I'm an undergraduate student who is new to these forums as well as trading in general. I was wondering if you guys could give me some advice on ways to find or locate data; I asked the ever so knowledgable moderators and they suggested I ask you guys so here I am.

I’m interested in historic Naphtha prices in Singapore, but don’t know where I would be able to find this information. I’ve done some research around the internet and I think the Platts energy report has the data I would like. However, as I mentioned previously, I’m a college student and certainly don’t have that kind of money. Do you know of any other ways to get access to the Platts market data or places to look for historic Naphtha prices in Singapore?

Are you in college in the US? Quite often many universities will have access on an educational basis/license to historical data like what you are looking for.

Other than that you are going to have to pay to play.
 
Define "Price for naphta". This is like "the value of the Doww Jnones". There is a lot of differrence between daily, intraday, maybe an specific exchange. Some may be free- check a local newspaper that may be able to help you out.
 
WinstonTJ: Yes, I am a college student in the US and that was my first thought as well. My school offers free access to a couple bloomberg terminals, but unfortunately does not subscribe to the Platts report. :(

NetTecture: My apologies for being vague, I'm looking for the settlement price on Naphtha futures contracts out of Singapore. I've found a weeks worth of this info on a couple of sites, but I'm looking for 3 to 5 years worth of this information which I can't seem to find anywhere.
